Total Solar Eclipse 2006: LibyaA full solar eclipse is something that few people experience even once in a lifetime, and eBucks Travel offers a package running from March 25 to March 31 2006 that will give people a chance not only to realise their dreams of witnessing this rare event, but doing so in a romantic desert setting. This unique encounter will place you in the desolate splendour of the Sahara Desert to experience the ancient and awe-inspiring majesty of the full solar eclipse on March 29, 2006 from an area that is practically guaranteed clear skies and abounds with dramatic scenery - the Jalu Oasis in north-central Libya's Great Sand Sea. The seven day trip will also take in the charms of the capital city, Tripoli, with a visit to the jumbled streets of the old town, an absolute must for sightseers, while a tour of the Roman ruins at Sabratha, near Benghazi will appeal to history buffs, although sun worshippers may wish to simply soak up some rays at the hotel. A full day trip to Leptis Magna - one of the best preserved examples of a Roman city – is also planned, followed by a return to Tripoli to catch a night flight (included) back to Benghazi, before moving on to the eclipse centerline camp at Jalu. Eclipse photography and observation tips will also be provided, and an after party with local entertainment and dancing is also on the cards for all fun-loving adventurers.

The Egypt package will introduce visitors to the wonders and complexities of the ancient dynasties of the pharaohs. Included in the deal are visits to the Egyptian Museum in Cairo, where artefacts from the various dynasties, right up to the Greek and Roman occupations of the country can be seen, as well as to the pyramids and the inscrutable Sphinx. There will also be a trip to Luxor, exploring the legendary Valley of the Kings and the grand temple at Karnak, as well as the numerous bazaars and markets, although tired travellers can simply enjoy lazing about on the cruise boat we will be using. Other highlights include a cruise to Edfu – paying a visit to the temple of Horus, the falcon-headed God – and Komombo, where the temple of Sobek, the crocodile-headed God awaits, as well as the natural beauty of the mighty Nile River. The day before heading to Tripoli is spent in Aswan, enjoying a sailboat ride around the islands or a visit to the mausoleum of the Aga Khan, before heading to Cairo and a flight out to Libya for the eclipse.
