Life gets more rewarding for Humana People-to-People Child Aid

More Press Releases 21 June 2005

Humana People-to-People Child Aid, a Doornkop-based NGO, is the latest recipient of rewards from South Africa's award-winning rewards programme eBucks.

A non-governmental organization, developed in response to UNICEF's call for actions to the decline in the conditions of the world's children, Humana is dedicated to improving the lives of people living within the Doornkop area, to empowering community members in community leadership and development, to provide HIV/AIDS education and life skills, and to mobilizing resources to those affected by HIV/AIDS.

"True to our commitment to support communities in need, particularly those who are nurturing South Africa's many orphaned and less privileged children eBucks has, this year, dedicated its support to rewarding the people of Humana. This has been through several interventions," says eBucks CEO - Lezanne Human.

"eBucks sponsored a fun shopping spree for the top three teams in the recently held Humana Under 10 Football Tournament. The first and second team were kitted out with top-of-the-range soccer boots, while the third team was treated to protective shin-guards and team caps."

Also on the receiving end of the eBucks team's community spirit was the Humana Crèche which cares for children in need from Doornkop and the surrounding areas.

"Our eBucks team has been hard at work personally knitting the children of the Humana crèche colourful woolly hats and scarves for the winter," says the eBucks CEO. Over sixty children will be wearing the creations of the eBucks team. On a previous visit eBucks employees donated carpets, books and shelving to the crèche.
